Getting a free cell phone

You've come to this page because you are looking for a free cell phone with no credit card needed.

This page exists because two years ago, a company called GoZing was offering just such an arrangement. Unfortunately, GoZing Cellular no longer exists. Since then we have spent countless hours looking high and low trying to find free cell phones and cell plans that our loyal visitors could get without a credit card. We are happy to report that we have found many cell phones like the Blackberry, Razr, Samsung and LG phones that you can get for free with no credit card. You just have to use an alternate payment type like Paypal, debit card or prepaid credit card to get your free phone.

What is not possible is to get a free cell phone without a credit check. Think about it. It makes sense. Cell phone vendors offer you the free phone as a way to entice you to sign up for a cellular service plan. They subsidize the cost of the cell phone, giving you a free phone and in some cases even giving you a cell phone with a rebate of up to $50 as a way get you to sign up for the service plan. If you don't make payments on the service plan you select from Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, At&T and other carriers, then the cell phone vendor can't recover the cost of the phone. That is why you need to pass a credit check to get a free cell phone.

How good does your credit have to be? Actually your credit does not have to be good to get a free cell phone or a free cell phone with rebate. Reputable carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T will use a "soft" check of your credit score. This soft check won't hurt your credit rating as some other credit inquiries can. If they feel your credit score is too low they may ask you for a deposit. You still get the phone for free, you can still get a cell phone rebate with bad credit, you can still get free two day shipping in many cases, but a deposit will be requested. The deposit is held by the carrier and will be returned to you after a period of timely payments against you cellular service bill.

So go for it. Try and get your free cell phone with free shipping or even a rebate on a free cell phone. You might sail through just fine even without good credit. They don't expect you to be perfect. Then when you are approved you won’t owe anything at checkout. Remember, even with a free cell and free shipping the vendor will do a $1 authorization on your card to prove it is valid.

Tip #1 :
If you are worried about bad credit, go for a free phone that is not the most expensive. Obviously the more expensive the cell phone is that they are "giving" you for free, the better credit they will want you to have.

Tip #2:

Try different service providers. Each carrier may have different credit requirements. Keep trying.
