MATCHING OF ELEVATIONS

1 Sequenced Running Match

Individual panels can be matched as above, and a series of them produced from successive leaves until a flitch is used up. There is a gradual change in the grain pattern as one proceeds through the flitch, but succeeding panels in the series are almost identical. Thus, an entire elevation would appear to be matched.

2 Blue Print Matching

This method entails, in addition to the panel match and sequence match, using the veneer to cover doors, side panels, transoms, etc., as they occur in the elevation. The faces are made up to the size of each individual panel in the elevation, in sequence as they come from the flitch.
